Healing Touch uses the gift of touch to influence the human energy system specifically the energy field that surrounds the body (the aura) and the energy centers that control the flow of energy from the field to the body (the chakras).
The Healing Touch Certification is administered through the Healing Touch Program and is a specialty certification in energy medicine. Healing Touch Program in a national certification approved by the American Nurses Association Credentialing Program and accepted by the American Holistic Nurses Association for Continuing Education. It consists of 5 levels of education in a variety of methods to address the human energy field, a year of mentorship, documented HT sessions, one large and three small case studies, an educational reading list of 25 or more books on the Human Energy Field and Healing and requires passing a National Certification Test. The certification is maintained by continuing education and active practice requirements documented and reviewed by Healing Touch Program every 5 years. www.healingtouchprogram.com
Research supporting Healing Touch has been conducted in hospitals, universities, professional organizations and the National Institutes of Health, Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.
It can be used for health and well-being maintenance, stress relief, wound healing, anxiety, depression, pain relief, to decrease the effects of chemotherapy, cardio-vascular disease, immune and endocrine function and to assist with comfort in death and dying.
