Martha Parsley is an Acupuncturist, Registered Nurse and Certified Zero Balancer. Using her experience of 30 years of nursing, 17 years of acupuncture, and skills learned through Zero Balancing, Martha aims to assist her clients in the process of healing physically, emotionally and spiritually. She uses an integrative approach that promotes optimal health and prevents disease.
Martha’s nursing experience includes both medical-surgical and operating room, giving her an in depth understanding of the human body. Licensed in Acupuncture in 2000, Martha believes it’s basic premise: in order to make acupuncture thorough and effective one must first cure the spirit. Further, Martha is trained in the art of Zero Balancing, a hands-on body-mind system of therapy that balances the relationship of energy and structure within the bones and tissues of the body.
Martha believes in Acupuncture’s effectiveness based on her personal experience. In 1995 she received her first treatment - more out of curiosity than necessity. Although subtle, she immediately felt better mentally. She continued to receive treatment and soon realized that she was better able to cope with life’s challenges. There was an, “ah- ha”, moment when everything seemed right with the world. Any physical complaints were lessened, if not removed, and she also noticed that she didn’t get seasonal illnesses as often.
Martha is an Acupuncturist because she has a profound gratitude for her own experience as a patient and also as a practitioner of both Western and Eastern styles of medicine. She continues to be inspired by what she learns, and she would like to offer the same opportunity to those seeking healing. We owe it to ourselves to take time to heal, slow the pace and find what is inherent in each of us.
Martha has worked at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room since 2003. In conjunction with working as a nurse Martha obtained a business license in 2007 and founded Elemental Healing LLC. She practiced out of her home and the chiropractic office of Dr. Paul Foutz, Jarrettsville, Maryland from 2007-2014. Prior to that Martha worked as an Acupuncturist at Harford Holistic Center in Bel Air, Maryland 2004-2005.
